the journey ahead.

this weekend was another busy one! full day at the salon saturday.  i was rushing all day because i knew i had to get down to douglasville in time to make it to garrett and brooke's engagement party, and i made it! it was so wonderful to see garrett and meet brooke. i am so so happy for him. she is wonderful and he just lights up when he sees her.  it's all i could wish for one of my dearest friends! i cannot wait for their wedding, it will be so beautiful! i got to see my aunt and uncle who i haven't seen in like 5 years, and my cousin from pennsylvania who i haven't seen in even longer, along with many other friends who i rarely see anymore. it was a great party! 

after the fun at garrett's ryan and i got to meet up with kasey and marco and enjoy some starbucks. yumm. and catch up. it's always good to be around those people who you can be completely yourself around and who know you! it was a great way to end the night!

and then sunday rolled around and we went to our home church with mom and dad, and got to go with our pastor to lunch for our much anticipated meeting.  God has been speaking to both ryan and i lately about where he is calling us and i feel like he has been telling me to get ready to serve him in whatever way he needs, so we were both shocked to get a message from our pastor about some interesting news that possibly involved us and our lives.  to keep it simple, God is planning some huge things for ryan and i, and we are excited to see the outcome, no matter what it is.  God is so big, and i am humbled more and more everyday with everything that happens in my life, and how it all seems to fit together for his purpose.  i'm sure in the near future i can be more clear on this topic but for now, the journey ahead is in his hands, and i am in awe of him.  praying praying praying for answers and his will to be done.

so then we went back  to mom and dad's  house to hang out and for me to hi-lite holly's hair. my wonderful friend and client and our pastor's wife. it turned out great, as usual, she has great hair! :)  and then..... geez, this weekend was long, we joined ryan's mom, sister, sister's boyfriend, and step dad (tom) for dinner. i don't think i have let my blogging world in on the details of ryan's families relationship with tom, but lets just say in the past year things have been crazy and ryan and his sister haven't spoken to him. so sunday night dinner was a huge deal. i was really worried about the uncomfortableness (word?) of the situation, but it went better than i think we both thought it would.

and then monday got here and we got to go to lunch with mom before heading home. did i mention that my life sort of revolves around crazy busy weekends? well it does. and did i also mention how excited about the journey ahead? well i am :)
